About the Meeting

The major theme for the meeting is the signaling between GPCRs, TRP channels and lipid messengers. The links are multiple; to mention a few, GPCRs active TRPC channels via lipid messenger generation,extracellular lipid messengers activate GPCRs which activate TRP channels, and membrane lipid interactions direct signaling of the membrane signaling components such as GPCRs and TRP channels. For the organizers, working in the different aspects of these signaling systems, the topic felt very timely, and with not that much covering in the recent litterature. The idea has been to bring together prominent scientists in the related fields to create an occasion where the net output is more than the sum of the components and the mixing of different fields may create novel understanding and ideas. The approach aims at integration from the molecular to the entire organism level.
