About Food Control Research

ruoka The concept of food safety is undoubtedly among the most important issues worldwide. The safety of the foods is taken as a certainty by the consumers in the developed countries, and extensive research has been conducted on microbiology and toxicology perspectives of food safety. Since acknowledging the possible hazards in food supply, the basis for safe food lies in an effective system for controlling the food production.

Food control research is directed towards evaluating the influence and efficacy of the inspection processes and the preventive measures taken in throughout the production chain from farm to table. We should be able to evaluate the payback from the investment of resources to the food control by estimating the income using both the financial and health perspectives. Studying the influence of different kinds of food control policies in practice also provides new information to be considered when designing the work of food controlling authorities.
